The cruise port of Haines is located in the Chilkoot Inlet and is known as the Adventure Capital of Alaska with easy access to kayaking, hiking, and biking. Haines is also the home of the Chilkat Bald Eagle Preserve. Haines isn’t on every cruise itinerary as most ships visit Skagway which is one hour by ferry.
Where Cruise Ships Dock in Haines, Alaska
The cruise port of Haines is located in Portage Cove and pretty much in the middle of the town. The pier can only accommodate one cruise ship at a time at their Chilkoot Dock (CHL). Any other ships visiting Haines would need to be at anchor.
