Along with the cruise line brand flag, a cruise ship will fly courtesy flags of the country it is visiting. It will also fly it’s Flag of Registry. There are also a few other flags that may be on the cruise ship’s mast. Are you familiar with the International Code of Signals. ⚓️ Alpha Flag - This is a white and blue flag that is used to indicate that there is a diver in the water next to the ship (typically hired to do an inspection or maintenance). ⚓️ Bravo Flag - This is a red flag that indicates that the ship is taking on dangerous cargo. The pizza dough and crust is perfect, not too wet, not to crispy, and just the right amount of sauce and cheese. Tonight I had the Margherita pizza and Tony had the Pizza Completa with burrata cheese. Also tonight, our table felt like we were in the kitchen, which was awesome! In the summer this pizzeria has a great outdoor patio area, too. We’ve been here many times (summer, fall, winter, and spring) and every time we’ve enjoyed our pizzas! Today we climbed the tower of St. Peter’s church Today we climbed the tower of St. Peter’s church in Munich, Germany which offers some of the best views of Munich and its historic area. The church tower (aka: “Alter Peter” or Old Peter) is 92 metres in height (300 feet) with 306 steps to climb to the top. St. Peter is Munich’s oldest Catholic Church and is located in the city center next to Marienplatz, which is also the location of the state capital’s New Town Hall. Not so new and built in 1905, the New Town Hall in Munich, was built in the Neo-Gothic architectural style. It also has a tower to climb, but it wasn’t open today. The New Town Hall is also home to an impressive law library (Juristische Bibliothek), but unfortunately it was also not open to the public today. Interesting fact: The balcony of the New Town Hall is Munich’s most popular place for sports teams to celebrate winning a title. FC Bayern, for example, has been a regular guest in recent years, turning Marienplatz into a giant party zone. Don’t Make These Disembarkation Mistakes on Your Don’t Make These Disembarkation Mistakes on Your Next Cruise 📎 Save this post for a future cruise The cruise is over and you need to pack your luggage. This means that some of your bags you will pack and put outside your stateroom door the night before disembarkation. This is a great system that cruise lines use for those guests that don’t want to carry all their bags off the ship in the morning. It’s like having a hotel porter bring your bags down from your room so you don’t have to. If you do want to take advantage of the cruise ship crew taking your bags off the ship for you, don’t make these mistakes: ❌ Don’t wait until too late. There is generally a cut off time (eg. 11pm) that you need to put your bags outside of your cabin door. If you put your luggage out too late, they may not get taken off the ship for you. You will then be responsible for taking them off the cruise ship yourself. ❌ Don’t pack necessities (or everything) into your luggage that you may need in the morning because you won’t see your bags until you are in the terminal building. ❌ Don’t forget to put the luggage tags that the cruise ship gives to you onto your bags. These tags typically correspond to your disembarkation group (eg. Navy 4). No tag on a bag will make it difficult to find your bag in the cruise terminal. ❌ Don’t put luggage outside your stateroom door if you have chosen the Express Walk Off option. If you have booked an early flight, then you will need to carry all your luggage off the ship yourself. During the Captain’s farewell speech, he also introduced the Crown Princess’ employees of the month. The crew on the Crown Princess are a huge factor in what makes a cruise great for our guests. This farewell party is bittersweet for us because we are also going home at the end of the cruise (tomorrow).
