Discovery Princess visited Dawes Glacier this morn Discovery Princess visited Dawes Glacier this morning after cruising up Endicott Arm. 🚢 Discovery Princess entered Endicott Arm around 5am this morning. 🚢 Once Discovery Princess was near Dawes Glacier, the Captain turned the cruise ship so that everyone, on all sides of the ship would have a view of the glacier. 🚢 I took this timelapse video from 6:30am to 6:45am from Deck 14, starboard side, near the Bridge wing. #princesscruises #discoveryprincess #cruise #cruiseship #cruiselife #alaska #glaciers
What is a unique item on the menu at McDonalds in What is a unique item on the menu at McDonalds in Ketchikan, Alaska? 🚢 The McDonald’s in Ketchikan is about a 20 minute walk from Berth 4, where Discovery Princess docks. 🌎 I always like to eat at McDonald’s in different cities from around the world when I travel. It’s fun seeing the unique menu items (even if I always order the same thing at McDonald’s - Big Mac with no onions or sauce). 🚢 The McDonald’s in Ketchikan, Alaska has a Denali Big Mac on their menu. It is essentially two quarter pounders on a Big Mac bun. (Note: I did not order this, it’s a Big Mac in the video). 🍔 The Denali Big Mac is dressed the same as a regular Big Mac with lettuce, cheese, onions, and pickles. However, the Denali Mac is 880 calories versus 590 calories for the Big Mac (if calories matter, 😂). 🥤Oh, and don’t forget that McDonald’s has the best Coke, even in Alaska! 😀 🌎 Do you like to eat at McDonald’s in various cities around the world? Last night’s production show, Rock Opera showcas Last night’s production show, Rock Opera showcased Discovery Princess’ new Guest Tenor, Shea Rafferty. Another first was the fact that the stage lifts were in operation. (The lifts haven’t been used in probably about a year). But the huge achievement of the night was that yesterday evening the ship was rocking quite a bit, and yet the show still went on! What is your tolerance level for rough weather? 🚢 Discovery Princess left Skagway yesterday evening and today is a full sea day. 🚢 Usually you can’t feel the ship moving with 12 to 15 foot waves, but today we are cruising into them so the ship is moving quite a bit. 🚢 By the afternoon, the waves were down to 10 to 12 feet, but still the direction of the waves makes it uncomfortable for some cruisers. 🚢 How is your tolerance level for moderate to rough seas, on a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being you LOVE feeling the ship move? #cruise #cruiseship #cruiselife #alaska #cruiseshiplife #roughweather

Today’s weather in Ketchikan, Alaska has been ra Today’s weather in Ketchikan, Alaska has been rainy and cold with temperatures as low as 9 degrees C (48 degrees F).
