I was surprised how crowded the museums were yesterday, considering it was the middle of November. Thankfully we booked a tour with a guide and we were able to skip the line. Plus, our guide, Luigi Simone was very knowledgeable and interesting. Tony just completed a training course this week at Tony just completed a training course this week at CSMART, called Dynamic Positioning. De Goudse Waag is 17th-century weighing house with displays on cheese making & local crafts, plus a tasting room. The historic building is now a museum which offers a self guided tour. Zaanse Schans is a Dutch village park that feature Zaanse Schans is a Dutch village park that features six windmills set on the Zaan River. Besides visiting windmills, you can visit traditional houses, shops and museums, many that have been transported here as a reserve for historic buildings. One of the biggest things I miss when we go home at the end of the contract is the food. I miss the steaks in the Crown Grill. I miss the Osso Bucco in Sabatinis. Although there were many locals enjoying this restaurant for lunch, it also catered to tourists. For the equivalent of about $50 usd the three of us filled up on tacos. Gaby and I enjoyed Margaritas and Tony ordered a non-alcoholic beer. Watch Discovery Princess depart Los Angeles yester Watch Discovery Princess depart Los Angeles yesterday afternoon to begin a 7-day California Coastal cruise. ⚓️ The cruise ship was docked portside alongside at Pier 92 in San Pedro during turnaround day. ⚓️ During the departure, Valerio (Safety Officer) was the Navigator, which means he was the one driving the ship off the dock. Staff Captain Petar was the Co-Navigator, supporting the Navigator. ⚓️ @captain_tony_ruggero was the Operations Director, overviewing the entire operation, supporting the Bridge Team, together with the local Pilot. ⚓️ Discovery Princess backed up the whole way down the channel before spinning around and proceeding into the open ocean.
